Wayward Rhapsodies

Welcome to Wayward Rhapsodies! If  you’re looking for somewhere to talk about stories, experience stories, or create stories, you’ve come to the right place.

I love telling stories. Sometimes that means writing a novel or a poem; other times it means singing a song or playing in a LARP or TTRPG. There’s no one way to tell a story, in my opinion, but a myriad of options depending on your play-style. I just happen to like a lot of options.

A summarized list of my current and upcoming projects, including my blog, can be found under Read & Write.

While I hope for this site and the content I create to one day be my full-time job, at present it is a part-time passion. Thank you for taking the time to check out Wayward Rhapsodies!

About Me

My name is Mel (she/her), and I'm a 30-something who enjoys making up stories whenever I get the chance. I also have Sjögren's Syndrome and I'm hard of hearing. I live with my partner, Chris, and with a cat named Layla, who is a gorgeous drama queen–just like her namesake. When not working or writing, I can be found LARPing, knitting, reading too many books, playing video games, or getting lost in the void known as the internet. Though my interests are wide and varied, telling stories has always been my greatest passion–whether through games, fiction, music, or art.

If it says Wayward Rhapsodies, then it is content I’ve made. If it says waywardrhapsode, that’s what I use as a username since a rhapsode is an archaic term for a rhapsodist, or one who rhapsodizes. In other words, a storyteller. Words are fun. This is why you can contact me at waywardrhapsode@gmail.com.
